So I have come across a couple of "newish" tracks this past week that I am seriously digging right now. First off, Coconut Records
Coconut Records is the solo project of actor/ex-Phantom Planet drummer Jason Schwartzman. His debut album is entitled "Nighttiming" and is produced by Incubus' Mike Einziger. I will admit, this is a little too "poppy" for me, but he was in Phantom Planet, so there you go. But his single "West Coast" is pretty amazing and relaxing. Enjoi..

The second track comes from Athens, Georgia based band "Dead Confederate." Listening to Dead Confederate you can hear the southern rock and garage rock influences. So check them out and download their song "The Rat" below. Oh, and they will open for R.E.M. at SXSW this year.
